Low RPM idle

I noticed that my bike is idling below 1000 rpm according to the bikes tachometer (only one green light on). Is there any way to adjust the engine idle rpm? I don't see an idle adjustment screw so I'm assuming its an EFI thing?
This isn't a problem at this point, just an observation. 2007 Bulldog.

There is no way to adjust your idle. However do not use the tachometer as a "solid" reference as to what rpm's your bike is at. The tach can have up to a 500 rpm difference in it meaning it can be up or down by 250 rpm's. The software in the ECU sets up the idle to be approximatly 1100 rpm's so you could be showing 900 and it is still fine. That being said even the 1100 rpm's can float up and down a bit so if it dropped to 1000 rpm's you could be "showing" 800 even.

I understand that the tach is not a precision instrument due to having one LED per 500 RPM of change. It was just based on listening to the engine over the last few months and noticed it seemed to be idling slower than normal is all.

Can you explain to me how the ECU controls the engine idle RPM without a throttle plate position motor? (drive-by-wire)

Does it change the igintion timing and use the RPM for its feedback loop control?

Thanks Ohmster

It's back to normal now. Maybe the IAC was carboned up in the throttle body.
