I have power going to the speedo and the speed sensor. Anyone have an idea which could have gone South overnight. Everything has been good till all of a sudden. When I came in it was working fine, came back in the next day now ZIP

Thanks Chillin

Test your speed sensor for signal.
First, test that the red wire reading is 12

volts. Test the black wire for continuity.
Using the proper equipment, raise the rear
tire, and check voltage at the green signal
wire while spinning the tire. The reading
should be between 0 and 6 volts. If no
voltage registers, replace the speed sensor.

OK, I did BOTH, no voltage at all and no crud...... sensor must have died.
Now I have to remove it again and check dimensions... oohhh whell

Just order a sensor from Curtis. His already has the JST connector ready to plug in your bike

The Autometer tach and the speedo have the same Positive + and Ground -.
I am not electrically challenged by no means BUT I AM STUMPED!! I have all the correct
connections, correct voltage and good grounds. Right now this is my only gremlin left.
The tach works fine, the wire from the speed sensor has been changed all the way
to the speedo. I got a sensor last week and got a whole 44.2 miles. The speedo and tach cycle
as they should BUT the speed sensor lives a very short life. Two sources, 4 sensors, new wire
etc, etc.

Almost seems like the speedo itself is causing the issue? If its shorting internally it could be frying the sensor? Hmmm.....
