My clutch carrier bearing went out and bike quit starting, I accidentally broke one of the pins of trying to get it out. Should I just order a carrier bearing and try to find someone to tig weld this pin back on, or does anyone have a used carrier assembly that might be willing to let go?? Any help appreciated20231026_172637.jpg20231026_172652.jpg

One of the old ones.
HDM should have an old cast aluminum bearing carrier—
I’m not sure of a weld on the inner hub. Many have switched to a Bandit clutch which uses a billet part. That neck you broke (impressive) extends out to the pressure plate and I would suspect is subject to some pretty good physics getting to high RPM’s. Maybe one of the guys with more clutch knowledge than me has an opinion on that. I wonder if a weld would present a balance issue—that gets a lot of rpm’s…..You sure that you can’t find a replacement inner hub anywhere?

I have been searching high and low and I can’t find one.. I thought about the balancing as well, but it just seems impossible to find one

I found one in my old parts collection—got a few dings but definitely serviceable. Basically I’m not disposed to sell a part I could never replace but I’m not putting in the miles like I used to. How about $50+ the ride?

Bandit machine works supplies that part as far as I know when you buy their complete clutch setup --- it's how I ended up with spares! Which is one of the one that went to Skogdog a few years ago!

So I was informed recently that ppl may misunderstand what I was saying. Just to clarify, in no way was I trying to speak ill of WSW, I was merely stating that there was no communication, whether or was bc I had the wrong info or he was just very busy (which I have since talked to him and that indeed was the case), but regardless I wasn’t trying to shine a bad light. I was just eliminating one of the the possible solutions that I knew ppl would give bc at the time I couldn’t get ahold of them. But thank you guys all for the help, hopefully can find some used parts soon and figure out the electrical issue

I’ hey Mike, I’m not sure what I need here, is it The center hub with mtc lockup?
You need to CALL them on the phone, most of the BDM stuff they carry isn't listed on the web site any more.
They are great people to deal with -- I've put Bandit clutches in 2 out of the 3 K-9's I've owned (just got the third so it's only a matter of time before it gets a Bandit)
