I asked before about what year of Chopper is best and got a lot of great advise. I talked to the owner of this one and I can get it for 10.5 Since I value the opinions of all of you I would like to know what you think. Thanks, Keith

I have a 2003 chopper RT frame. I have no problems with mine to speak of. Most after market BDM parts you find will cater to 2005 and up models, but With the 2003 and 2004 a lot of 84-99 soft tail parts fit our bikes, so replacement parts are easy enough to come by should they be needed.

If you decide to get the bike and its an RT frame I would gladly take the stock sissy bar and struts off of you if you do not want to use it. I will send you my OEM struts and perhaps some cash

When he says converted to standard 12 volt system, you should have him clarify what was done. They are all 12 volt? He may be indicating that he replaced the propriatary EHC with a wire plus sytem

Went and saw the bike. It's nice, has an oil cooler, he paid a shop to do the work so he is not exactly sure what was done. Said it was converted to a 12v system. I asked if it was the wires plus unit and he said yes. The only oil leak was on the bottom of the clutch cable. I offered 10 but he won't go lower then 10.5.

Check under the seat. If it has wire plus and an oil cooler its worth it in my eyes. It hurts my pocket book that mine is worth 10 or lower but shes not going anywhere so its all good

Well I have a 04 RT. No problems so far. Love the ride and the looks. Check the chrome carefully.
Be sure that is is not peeling off. Some of the older models had this problem. Other than that enjoy. The price is right if its clean.

The wire plus system would have 3 big wire connecters labeled 1, 2 and 3. These are big bulky light grey plugs

I stopped by the local bike shop who did all the maintenance on the bike. It used to be a Big Dog shop. He let me know that it does have the wires plus EHC. He told me that the owner was very anal about the maintenance. He had a all the gaskets replaced when it developed a small leak. When they pulled the top end to replace head gaskets they put new rings in it. I called the bike owner back and I will be picking up the bike this evening. Unfortunatly I won't be able to go riding for another month at least.

No riding for at least a month because on June 25th while riding a scooter on vacation in Galveston my son and I were rear ended by a drunk driver. My son (8yrs old) fractured his pelvis and I had my legs run over and broke my ankle. I am still healing from my injuries, he is better now. Here is a link to my story if you want to see some pictures.
