I'm not familiar with what a 2003 chopper should look like in this area. I can tell some things have changed and I was wondering if some of you that know what is right could tell me about the components in this picture, are they stock? I took this with my Iphone so it is a little fuzzy
Thanks...

Looks like someone had trouble getting the bike started at some point and kept cranking until the battery burned itself up along with everything hooked to the positive post.

I have never looked under an 03' seat but I did not think that they had gone to the proprietary EHC at that point.

Shouldn't that be a standard Thunder Heart Controller like this?

My wife has an '03 Mastiff but it's still an '03 BDM. Everything I see in your pic is pretty much the same as hers, other than location. Her EHC is/was mounted between the tanks. Now her Wire Plus is mounted there. I don't see anything unusual in your pic that stands out as something different.

It's the correct options for a 03

Mine is an 02 and it actually says ThunderHeart on it like the one I showed.

Looking at the picture from the 1st post, doesn't it look like a ThunderHeart controller with a BDM faceplate.

When I talked to ThunderHeart last week, I thought she said they did the BDM through 03-04.

I could be wrong but that is what I remember best as I can recall. :loony:

Looks right but Damn..lotta wires coming off these posts.. Could probably clean it up a little. What else does he have hooked up to it? An alarm ro something?

Looks right. BDM used a thunder heart module up to and including 2002, went to a proprietary BDM module in 2003, they are NOT interchangeable without some rewiring. The thunder heart ignition module and connectors are stock, some came with the green amp connectors some with the white connectors. The little rectangle black box is an Ignition switch/starter module. The ignition part of the module basically let them use a low current key switch to provide power thru the module to the EHC. It looks like it has a battery tender on it, you (and should), consolidate some of the wires going to the battery to help prevent the bolts from loosening up on you. At the very least make battery connection part of the pre-ride check.
