Would not be a bad idea but would use a low to medium hold such as 242 Blue Loctite or 222 Purple with the primer or acetone. Good to clean the threads with break cleaner first and make sure dry.

Hell I use red on everything. Just a smidge, don't soak it. Never had a problem getting anything apart when I wanted to, and nothing is falling off (yet).

One bit of advice, if you use Loctite and are not real familar with it, do not just go by the color. The color can and are used by many for the strength, however it is not always the case, especially if you get Loctite from an industrial supplier. Some of the Blue Colors can be very high strength for an example.

Generally thought Violet/Purple is Low, Blue is Medium, Red is High, Green and other (Orange, Clear, etc) are special apps stuff.

Learn the numbers, in this case 242 for medium strength, 277 for high strength and 222 for low strength. If you go outside of those numbers, best to know exactly what you are dealing with, for some are designed to use with a primer, while others are not. Some are thread-locker while other are designed to fill tight space (such as on sleeves).

Normally not a concern with most of the stuff one buys at the local part store, but for example if you grab a bottle of 2701 Green from say the excess bin at the local shipyard machine shop, you will quickly find out that green will take more to get looses than some of the Red and possibly need to find some quality time with a blow dryer heating up the bolt to get it loose!!

Loctite has some new stuff with the primer built in
Blue is 2440
Red is 2760
Works the same, but no primer is necessary.
