Limped the Dog Home - Push Rod

I re-worked the Top End on the wife's 05 a few months back (valve guides, rings, S&S boxes etc) and must not have tightened down 1 of the push rods good enough.

It's got less than 1K miles since the re-build & I took it for a spin yesterday. About 3 miles from home I noticed the top end was lounder than normal so I turned around & headed back. I hated to ride it that way but I didn't have anyone to call for a pick-up. By the time I got back, I was on 1 cylinder.

The rear intake pushrod was completely collapsed. I let it cool & re-adjusted it and everything seems fine.

I just started thinking I might should pull the cover to check the rocker (tried to be easy on it but I'm sure it got beat on some).

What do you think ??? It seems fine but I always overthink stuff like this.

You will always rethink and you will be listening to your engine a lot means it happened. Go though and recheck your work and enjoy the ride
