I hope this posts correctly....I'm fairly new at this.
I have an 05 Mastiff and experienced the left-hand cap issue with thread swelling. About 3 years ago, I purchased a replacement paint-saver, cap and thread insert from Landmark with the understanding the swelling issue was fixed. INCORRECT....after the replacement I still was forced to use a strap wrench to remove the cap. I wanted to share my experience with a fix that actually works. I obtained a aluminum thread assembly from BBChopper whom you can contact on this forum. I am extremely happy with what he made for me. I highly recommend to anyone having the swollen gas cap thread issue to send BBChopper a PM. For a very fair price, quick shipment and a permanent fix, he's the one to contact.
