I think there is one member on here with the speakers.

I know when I use my ipod I have to crank the volume. Maybe I need to get a better seal on them babies.

If those are the silver bullet ones with built in amps, a buddy of mine put them on the handlebars of his roadking, I have not heard them on the road but in his garage we had them half volume maybe and they sound loud and clear but not a lot of bass, but what can ya expect.

I just got my Cycle Sounds 3 inch handle bar speakers in today... Hear that they are the one's to beat. I will see this weekend

Make sure they are pointing right at your head in the riding position, other wise you will lose a lot of volume at speed.
Also make sure you can reach the Ipod to make volume adjustments and song changes easily.

I had the cycle sounds 3 on my road king before i did full fairing. Great speakers - but any small speaker wont work over 50 mph. But for slow crusing, the cycle sounds are great. You need to push them with power. I used a marine radio + 100 w amp

This is not my area since I ride with earplugs to preserve what little hearing I still have left, but one of the guys that I have rode with has a tank bag(magnetic) which holds his I-pod, radar detector, and cell phone. He has ear plugs which plug into the master box in the bag(can't remember what its called), this box routes the i-pod the phone and the radar detector to the earplugs. If a call or a radar signal comes in, it over-rides the I-pod to let him take the call via the ear plugs(also a mic) or hear the radar detector.
He rides too fast for my liking(around 90 non-stop) so the radar detector is very important to him. The main advantage to this system is it will help preserve your hearing and you are not adding another thing to the bike that stays on it. Just another food for thought, but it is by far the way I would go to save my hearing.

I had a similar experience with the new Harley speaker at the shop - across the floor, could not talk with friends. But Slow Vince ain't gonna put HD speakers on his Dragon's Ire...

I do have the windshield, and wear a full helmet. Have not yet found ear buds that are not... aggravating. Cardo G4, can just barely hear that music is playing with the little speakers that come with those things. Waste of money...

Primary Spousal Unit has a set of J&M, they're "good enough" at speed (when I ride real close to her), but just wouldn't look right on the Niner.
