The reason why I asked about when was the last time you checked your kickstand bolts was because I had never checked mine. I bought brand new 2007. Just this year 2020 I parked the bike, put down the kickstand and the next thing I know my bike was on top of my left leg and I was pinned underneath of it. Some people saw it happen and came over and pulled the bike up and it kick stand in was just dangling. One of the bolts had broke, sheared right off. It looks like they had become loose somehow. The next problem was what to do with a bike when you're sitting on it and you have no kickstand. So I'll let you figure that one out.

The last time I had one snap like that I caught myself (luckily) before I went completely over. I was in North Jersey about 120miles from home.
Now normally I left the house and left my trailer open (ramp down) and I'd just drive right into the condor chock. On this day, for some reason, I put the ramp up! Great! What now.
We take some zip ties/etc and tie the kickstand up so its not flopping. I head home. Get 30 miles down the road and kickstand is loosening in the zip ties! Pull into a hot dog stand and see another biker -- get him to hold the bike while
I zip tie the kickstand (my buddies tried when this happened). Get back on my bike and call one of my riding buddies -- "Dude, where you at?" him "at the store" Good, go to my house and put the ramp down on my trailer for me.
Get home a while later and was able to drive straight in like normal! Good to have people!
Surprised the bike was on your leg -- Last time I went over like that (forgot to put kickstand down -- long story) the bike stopped in the license plate holder and I was able to brute force it up, but then again, I was trying to put the bike on the stand so I was leaning that way and was able to stay out of the way. Best yet -- no one saw it!
