K9 windshield test

I’ve had this windshield on the Bulldog for a bit - but it looked really short and didn’t kill the “neck wind” very much so I took it off. Tried it this weekend on the K9 for a short ride - I can’t see thru the darn thing now. It has that little curve or flip at the top and that is EXACTLY in my line of sight— everything looks distorted looking thru it and I do not feel comfortable with it. I can feel a big difference in less wind against my head just can’t see clearly thru it It’s a 14” maybe I should try a 10“ The last photo is sitting on it with camera at eye level-EA688F2E-C997-464E-A008-FA805FB168BF.jpegF5995395-106B-4369-8D92-FA98992EFA51.jpegB7196FBE-841D-4975-9D40-97F378FDEA87.jpeg

One of the old ones.
Ever consider trying a quality modular helmet? I tour some, and finally gave up on K9 windshields. They seemed to create a buffeting and lowered mileage. The only time I really miss the windshield is in rain.

I had the same issue. I drilled two holes higher (so it would set lower) and took the same amount off the bottom. Works great.!
P.S. use oil to lube the drill bit as you are drilling, as it can cause it to melt or crack. New bit please. Those are made by Windvest, give them a call, they have always been receptive to me and my questions.

If it will clear the trees, drill some new holes and lower it to where you just look over it. Maybe 2" lower?
It’s really tight close to the upper tree now - I think Butch has some experience with this - it DEFINITELY will have to be cut off or spaced out about an inch - not sure about that.
And Mr SKOGDOG I do have a modular helmet - I have about 8 different helmet/styles but I can only use a couple of the half helmets I have because of my head surgery- it’s still kinda tender in that area
Thanks again for everyones advice and experience - you guys are priceless

Lowering it wont be much since you would have to trim it. First you might use it as a sample and try drilling it to raise it the 16" version and then if that doesn't work you can trim it to the 10". That way you'll know what works and replace later down the road if you ever need to.
