K9 Vances & Hines replacement heat shields

So my rear heat shield on my Big Dog K9 blew off on the highway almost recovered it. A motorist saw it fit to watch me the pipe and drive over it as joke. I ordered the replacement shield from Super Cycle and its the wrong shield they sell. Called Vance and Hines they stated they discontinued the pipes for Big Dogs and they were specially made for those bikes. Bike looks like crap with the rear heat shield missing of the pipe.

Any one know where i can get thew right heat shield and part number for a 2 into 2 Big Radius Vance and ,Hines pipes

I thought I saw V&H 2-2 on the BDPP website listed as new. Wondered if V&H was making them again. Check into it.

you could always wrap the header pipes

I had the same problem man. Called Vance &hines and they said they were discontinued. At myrtle beach bike week this spring I stopped by their tent and they looked at it and told me the header pipes were diferent but the back covers were the same aesthetic softail. Hooked me right up. I do have a pitbull so not sure the difference. Just saying. Don't know why when we call they say they don't have it. If u can get to their tent I bet they could help you out. Hope this helps

So i have another option two install some used 2 into 1 Martin Brothers Exhaust use don't like the wrap look has any one had luck with these pipes in chrome. Wondering since last owner wrapped them if they were putting out way to much heat

any exhaust without some form of heat shields is gonna be hot enough to burn the crap out of your leg and pants within the first 18-24" of the flange. wrap is just another form of statement like chrome is, either you like it or you don't. question is, do you like scabs peeling off your right leg and the smell of burning hair? :roll::roll:

Wow suspected that's why i they were wrapped appreciate the way you laid that out probably order the replacement six week lead time but season is over. But no burning flesh or hair that route. At least i know must have heat shields if i switch too two into 1 Thanks Bro
