K9 Starting

My BigDog
My 08 k9 will start right up first thing. However, if I shut it off and try restart immediately it won't do anything. If I let it set for about 10 minutes, it will start right up. Can anyone tell what is causing the problem?

The easiest thing to start with, when you're having this problem, is to pull the plugs off the EHC, clean them and put some fresh dielectric grease on them. Of course make sure you pull the neg cable off the battery first.

When you try to re-start does your headlight go off momentarily? When the key is on the headlight should come on (low beam) and when you hit the start button it should go out until released. That helps to take load off the battery during start up. When a carbed Big Dog start button is depressed the headlight should go out, the compression releases should activate and the starter solenoid should also activate.
If all three fail when the start button is depressed I would start by checking the circuit brd. to be sure the button is working properly.
