K9, exchange the 3 rear axle bearings "6205-1-2RS" German manufacturer SKF: My Story

Energy One
Hello BIGDOG's. Last week I got myself in my tires Discount RC in Simbach am Inn

http://www.rc-simbach.de/
(tel. +49 8571 8594)

a new Avon 300/35 R18 87V TLAV72 Cobra mount for 240 bugs. It has established the Helmut professional installation that my 3 ball bearings Timken 6205-1-2RS with the interior dimensions: 25.4 mm, external: 52mm Width: 15mm were defective. After opening the seal, we have cleaned up the camp and found that all three ball bearing raceway of the ball was damaged. My bike has 9000 mile run, but only once. My research has shown that American Timken 6205-1-2RS

6205-16-2RS Sealed Bearing 1"x52x15 Ball Bearings

is an absolute cheap junk/fuck from China. Such bearings are inferior in Germany is not even installed in wheelbarrows. Unfortunately, we were at the German bearing manufacturer SKF buy no matching stock. But Helmut was a great idea. We bought the German 6205-2RS SKF bearings with inner dimensions: 25mm x 52mm x 15mm and have them in the inner diameter of 25.4 mm (1 ") by a special expert (from factory Max Gantner +49 8571 2220) with a diamond turning tool expands (Price 50, - Euro per all 3). Since that time I drive in my rear axle 3 German SKF bearings. The ride and handling of my BIGDOG K9 has changed to positive. Beat at high speed the steering is now completely gone. Now my K9 runs better than new. Best regards from a german BIGDOG

Huh ?

So basically you bought the correct exterior dimension and had Helmet machine the ID so it would fit your axle.

SKF does make a bearing to fit our bikes I believe they are made in Japan not China. SKF Part # 6205VSP25

Although the ball bearings 6205 - VSP25 SKF has the correct dimensions , outer diameter 52mm, thickness 15mm bearings and inner diameter 25.4 mm ( 1 inch ) , however, the camp sites are not sealed. I have installed the SKF bearings 6205 -2- RS . This camp one has to be turn down to 25.4 mm so that the 1 inch axle shaft fits in. Before installing it in a lathe shop in the inner diameter from 25mm to 25.4 mm.
The German SKF bearings are now built 20,000 miles in the rim and even after hard use like new !
Since I am self machine and plant builders I have the old Timken 6205-1 -2RS have them checked for hardness and materials. The Timken bearings are made of very poor steel. The Timken balls are too soft. The sealing of the TIMKEN bearing is also made of a very bad rubber / plastic. The bearings go broke because the lateral Timken - bearing seal is not waterproof . Through rain or washing water comes in to the Timken bearings, and the fat is flushed out. Also fits the inner diameter and outer diameter are according to German DIN standards all out of tolerance . I would install those Timken-bearings only in Russian tanks or in Chinese bicycles .
