I have had 3 05 ridgebacks and the only issues that I recall having were a recall on the rear wheel and the most common problem being clutch hub nuts coming loose (which on the one open primary contaminated the clutch plates necessitating their replacement). There is a lot of info here on the site to correct and minimize this from happening. Good luck and enjoy! You can contact Donna (bigdogpartsking...a vendor on this site) or keep checking ebay under big dog parts or just have your seat redone.

2005's might be the toughest year of all. The EPA was all over BD that year. Restriction plate behind the undersized E-Carb, many trans shafts improperly made so they are prone to snap. TP rocker boxes are hit and miss, but some say valve failure is eminent because of bad geometry. They were making so many bikes that year that it is suspected they did not always use the correct parts including the washer on the stator which specs a hardened washer,(clutch might be same problem), but I have seen Curtis take some out that were not hardened and were extremely deformed, hence the loosening.
