it should hold up pretty well as long as you cleaned and degreased the engine first. I'll be doing this on my Buell. Never crossed my mind to do it on the dog but you got me thinking now...

Powder coat works with no problem.I did a bike back in 98 and it still looks great....

I'll plan on that when the time comes to freshin up the motor!!! Thanks for the input guys.

Damn that time came sooner than expected, heads and jugs are at the powder coater now then back to finish machine work. Couple more weeks and I can start puttin her back together...

And, was it spray can painted?

It held up ok for header paint (it was just a temp job), I sprayed it into my touch up gun so I had more control.
