JIMS Transmission! 6 Speed conversion?

Anyone here know or done a 6 speed conversion on a JIMS 5 speed box? I emailed JIMS but have gotten NO response.:bang:

You may be able to.. hell I think your 02 has a Jims case at the least. But the newer dogs all run Baker made trans for BDM. They cant even order normal Baker parts let alone swap out to a Jims gear set.

I hear good things about the Jims Fat 5

Are the 05/06 trannys that do not say Baker on them made for BDM by Baker?

Chris, You must have WAY too much time to know all of this stuff! I'm jealous! LOL! I just find that cruising at 75mph is a little high on the rpm and the bike vibrates too much for my ass! Plus for a new rider it's a little nerve wracking with so much going on around me, to have the bike making me feel uncomfortable.
It's a JIMS case, says so in big letters cast into the housing! I'll email some places and keep everyone posted!

The 05/06 models are Baker trans made to bdm spec. Should say Baker on the front top edge of the trans...

I think those older dogs with the Jims cases have Baker gear sets, if that makes any sense at all. Glad to hear that you got it hooked up.

Just get an Ultima 6 speed, $500 and you're done. What's that Jims gearset gonna cost? I paid $600 for just 3rd and 6th gear on a Jims last year...

I put Ultima's in 2 custom bikes last year and both are still running strong. When I rebuild mine I'm switching to RSD and there is no way I'm paying $2k for a Baker, I'm going to put an Ultima in there!

5 is betta than 6

I ride between 65 and 70 and get 51.5 mpg @ 75 I only get 43 mpg ... I'm in no hurry to go anywhere ... beside I usually don't know where I'm going ... and @75 the wind blows my foot off the pegs ... yeah I got light feet ... anywho you'll like that extra gear on the highway ... :flag: :up:

The Baker set is like $2400, then I have to put it together. Can't be much different than the old M993 Trannys I worked on in the Army! Lol!
