I believe Baker changed and went to a hardend main shaft in 08, so earlier ones were indeed weaker.
Do you by chance have a "worked enginie" putting out above BD horesepower?
From what I have been told with the design of the baker in our dogs, much over 120hp can be putting that transmission at risk.
I too have had my share of transmission problems and am waiting for one to return to me right now -- First BD was fine, next one not so much.

Yes I have done some work on my motor and I was taught by all the old timers how to do it and now I do all my own motor work and yes I agree on Baker's Transmissions bearings need the upgrade and I have spent a lot of money with Baker at least every two years. This last round I started chasing down counter shaft second fourth sixth gear all new bearings gaskets and then they tell me they no longer are going to sell individual gears and now that I have to buy a rebuild kit through them at $3,000 minimum so I'm kind of at the point I'd rather put another Transmission in there and put all my hardcore upgraded stuff bearings and set it up different. That's why I want to find another transmission that come out of a big dog. I also have a brand new 5 speed Baker for sale if anybody is interested. I will post it next week. I can't use it I was raised with a 4-speed kicker on my shovel

My understanding is he can bulletproof the’05 & up RSD transmissions.

Curtis is doing Mikes....im sending Jeffs transmission to Josh once i can get around a little better...
