please rescue me! how the fuckin hell do you get the cables out through the bars??? The connector is too big to go through the hole and I can't for the life of me get the little wires out of the connector. Terrible design if you ask me. Do the connectors under the tank fit through the holes? Surely you don't have to take the tank off (which I hate doing) just to get the handlebars off - surely the design aint that bad - is it? The holes at the bottom of the bars are pretty small. I've already fucked up the wires going to the left hand control with a drill - don't ask. Hopefully I can get a new set?

Can someone please help - I have to get the parts to the powder coater quite swift.

Many thanks all and apologies for the bit of a rant - I've been trying for hours on these fuckin bars and am getting ready to take a grinder to them.

Cheers

You're gonna have to take the wires out of the connectors. You should be able to use a small nail (finishing) or some type of needle to push down on the clips that hold the wire pins and pull them out that way. If you break anything, we can get the stuff to repair/replace.

I had a similar problem with mine - the wires came out of one connector real easy but i spent ages trying to get the wires out of the other connector - i ended up just cutting the wires and then rejoining them, the join is hidden so no one sees it anyway.

thanks gents but how do you get the wires out? I've fiddled with a pin and a paper clip and cannot get the little fuckers out - this has pissed me off no end today.

Lee, I changed my bars to the longer Ridgeback ones and I pulled the wires out without removing the connectors. If you disconnect the wires from under the tank they pull right out from the bottom up.
Pain to pull the wires out of the connectors. But if you do they make a little tool for it that you can get at your automotive store.

Thanks Ray - it does seem a bad design to me that the connectors in the hand controls won't go through though. I doubt I'll get that tool here in the UK either - wait a minute, I'm on my holidays soon!!!!
