Intermittent Tach

I have an 04 bulldog. I have a tach that will only register once in a while but for the msot part will not work. All other indicators work (turn signals, neutral, high beam, etc.). I look at the ring and all connections seemed good. Tried a workign one and still did the same thing. Would not register. Did a search and read all about it on this forum. I have heard about potential with spark plug wires. I currenty have Accel wires on the bike, assuming original. Could this be a possible solution to change to new wires and if so should I go with twisted, magnacore, taylor, etc. Just trying to fugure out why it is not registering. Any toehr connections I shoudl check as I do not see any codnensation and they all look good. Any help is appreciated.

Accell is a good brand. It could be plug wires potentially. Easy thing to buy some new ones and try it, at least rule it out for a few bucks.

Twisted Wires look great but I had intermittent tach issues back when I had a PDM installed so went to Accell actually and problem solved. If you have the stock EHC or a PDM I would start with the plug wires. Start with the easy shit first! Especially since you already looked at the tach ring and it looked okay.

If it's not the plug wires you might just have a wire worn out somewhere probably under the tank unfortunately.

Have you considered cleaning or replacing the Speedo Sensor located on the Transmission. Could be just a bad sensor. Good Luck
