I'm just shocked they were able to keep the inventory/resources through the bankruptcy. If I were the bank, I would have had a mass sale to get some of my money back.....

But, I'm happy it panned out the way it did. I've had excellent service with BDM.

As for the website...building a product catalog/inventory system/shopping cart/payment system is pretty tough stuff. Looks like most of it is outsourced, but still very time intensive stuff. It would be easier/cheaper to hire 10 college grads to run in the warehouse to see if a part is available. Be patient....don't send nasty grams, PICK UP THE PHONE and call them if you have a problem.

Good article and so far BDPP has been good to me with no complaints. On the web site, I did find out that if I use Mozilla FireFox instead of IE, it is like night and day. Quick, searchable, etc. Like I siad, like night an day, so suggest to anyone having slow almost useless connection with IE, give it a try with FireFox.

Also if one register with the site, you can get even more stuff like installation information on some products including schematics for the PDM, but you have to be registered and (at least for me) Internet Explorer was not getting it, by FIrefox was working great, fast and accurate.

Some BDM employees are here, just not sure how much they check out the forums.

Thanks for sharing the article.

I am glad to see they are trying to succeed. They could have easily closed the doors and walked away. It's better for all of us to be patient and give them some time to restructure. I don't plan of every getting rid of my scoot......

Boomer, I was thinking along your lines as well. I ended up doing a little research on my end and found out that the bank and BD were able to settle on an unspecified amount. So they didn't have to push them for a fire sale, from my understanding.

I guess there was some money floating around, or between some of the extra warehouse space/handful of motorcycles leftover they could sell and pay off whatever they had owed.

In the end, it seems like that peaceful resoultion was what allowed them to start BDPP.

Let me preface the following with: my rant is due to my unsuccessful attempt to use my xmas gift certificate online and no it was not due to user error :D. Again I am only one user and certainly may be in the minority with my statements. However I still wish them well and hope they can survive!

With my limited experience on their site since inception almost a year ago the performance of the site has not change sure more content has been added but the performance and navigation is horrendous. As it is, we are in a web based B2B world...unfortunately having a unnavigable, super slow website does not represent your business to well to the consumer. Agreed phone call is better than nasty grams but just say’n.

I guess maybe the old software development saying comes into play "You can only choose 2: Fast, Good or Cheap"
In this case Fast + Cheap = Inferior :D

Oh I have not contacted them via phone but have emailed numerous times about the performance of the website...no responses as of yet.
