Installing Compression Releases on a 2001 Mastiff

I'm near my wits end with my starting issues (barely getting over the compression stroke or not at all). 2.0kw starter, cleaned up solenoid, 310cca battery, good cables, clean ends, tight connections, etc... I'm looking into installing electric compression releases and doing the job myself. Anyone here ever done this? I haven't tried pulling the rocker boxes from my Mastiff yet so I don't know if it's possible to do this w/o pulling the motor. I'm hoping I can make enough room by just pulling the tanks. From what I've read, the head should already be tapped with a bolt plugging it off. I've looked over S&S Instruction 51-1115 and the job doesn't seem that bad provided you can get in there to do the work. But, if this is going to require the heads being pulled and machine work being done I'm probably just going to scratch the whole idea. Any suggestions?
thanks,

There is a wiring diagram available in the S&S manual, however, the one I have is for the SSW+ enigines, 111", 117", and 124." I do not know if your engine wiring would be the same or not, that is something you would need to look into. If the heads are already machined, then that part of your upgrade is done.

Could try simple spark plug compression releases to see if it helps before you go thru all of that extra work.
