I'm in need of a front tire. 120/70/21 Metzler if possible. My 4 year old Avon Venom with 4000 miles is splitting out. Anyone know of a place I can get one Wed morning.

Paul, give Al a call at Thunderbird Motorcycles in Wheat Ridge, off of I-70, west of downtown Denver. He's got one in stock, ME 880 for $142. Said he could change it for ya first thing in the morning.

Found a tire. Performance Cycle has 4 of them. It's paid for and their taking it to Woodys wheel in Denver. I'll be there first thing in the morning to have it put on. Crisis abated.

Thanks I was moving fast on this. Up here riding around the Breckenridge area. Found that split this morning. I'll trailer it in the morning to Denver. I have to pick up my friends girlfriend at the airport at 7am then I'll run over and get it changed.

You're welcome. Glad you found one.

I just Googled up 'motorcycle tires Denver' and Thunderbird was the first one I called.

How is the weather treating you up in Colorado?

I Would like to head up there either this fall or next. Is late September or Early October still good for riding up there? Or if you wait till Oct you may get snow?

Snow in the mountains in oct for sure...still nice in Denver and along the front range....but a blizzard in late Oct is not uncommon

Weathers been pretty good. High 60's daytime and mid 40's nighttime. Passing showers though. Got caught in the rain and small hail yesterday. We're staying in Breckenridge. I'll do a trip report later.

So not really feasible to ride through the mtn's the first week or two in October? Already done by then?

Damn only 60 during the day? Hell its 107 today! That's only 900 miles north west of me.

Yep may only be 900 miles but were at about 10000ft elevation. Finding it hard to breathe here. Taking a ride to Mt. Evans Fri. Highest paved road in the US at 14265ft.

You could try but you better have a snowmobile suit on  Very cool in the mountains that time of year and the front range (Colorado Springs & Denver) can be iffy that time of year as well. And ALWAYS snows the week before Halloween...

Temperature goes down 3 degrees for every 3000 ft. you go up. Found that out in Yosemite National Park in June. Snowed up there also.
