Hi All,
I recently had to replace an ignition switch on my '06 Mastiff. This info may be posted somewhere else in this forum. If so, please pardon my ignorance.
My tech skills can usually be summed up with the phrases, "Will that be Mastercard or Visa?" But wanting to be more hands on, I have a buddy who is teaching me the ropes.
We pulled the ignition switch and after not finding anything locally that would fit; I was even less enthused by the eBay offerings.
Looking at the switch and seeing the name Grayhill, I whipped out the iPhone and Google, then made a few phone calls.
Ultimately, I ended up at Wilco who happened to supply the OEM switches to BDM. Even better, they have the 4 pin switch which apparently fixed the switch failure problem. They have the OEM switch for $49.00 + shipping.
You can reach them at:
Wilco
1-800-767-7593
Ask for Mike - He handles the BDM switches.
If you want an even better deal, my buddy found a 2 position key switch at Grainger. This is what we installed instead. They're on clearance marked down from $29.00 to $6.35. Yep, just over $6.00. We saved the original BDM connector and attached to the switch's lugs. Here's the info:
Grainger
Item #: 2TPV3
Price: $6.35
Link: http://www.grainger.com/product/NKK-Key-Switch-2TPV3?nls=3&ssf=3&searchQuery=2tpv3
Hope this helps.
