This weekend I got the old Shovelhead running again. Not a big deal, just a starter relay (just clicked when I hit the starter button). I had this happen before so before going thru all the diagnosis, I just went to Parts Plus auto parts and for less than $10 bucks got a new one, put it in and started right up. (that's what I love about the old harley simple wiring). If it had been a BDM and the starter button clicked then OMG ???????
Anyway, I took this old shovelhead out for a Putt and I have to say: I LOVE THIS BIKE!! I wish you all could ride it! So responsive, sounds SOoo GOOD, and a real Canyon-Carver! Just fantastic on the curves. Hell straight down the highway it is like a gymkhana horse and you want to "pole-bend" the stripes in the road!!
Now don't get me wrong, There are "different" things I love just as much about my Red Chop and my '98 Anniversary Heritage Springer (I'll sometime do a separate thread on each one of these to highlight the differences I love).
I am truly fortunate (until the insurance and license notices come) to own 3 such great bikes!
One of the places I rode my bikes to this weekend was to our little main street car show (I got a few pics but should have gotten more because there were some great cars there).
Now HERE is a toy hauler: That's a Whizzer on the back. (I wonder if it would make it to Sturgis - would be a real hit!! - Maybe even a bigger hit with a Dog on it!).
Main street, a "32 (I think) coupe, slingshot.
A REALLY OLD buggy! (Still runs in parades here):flag:
A late '30's Willys. Don't see these too often. Really tricked-out!
AND FINALLY: OUT MY FRONT DOOR (a few days ago after a gentle rain). I AM ONE LUCKY SOB!!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA:flag: Shovelcowboy
