I have a problem with the bike shutting off while riding

Energy One
I have a problem with the bike shutting off while riding, I have found that if the Pdm Metel box is not touching Ground the bike shuts off. I don't know if that is normal? The ground and positive on the box are well pluged. Also is it normal for low beam to be off till the bike starts?

Said another way; 'box is touching ground the bike runs.' You could:
1. Find a good ground on the pdm case and a good ground on the bike.
a. With a wire, coat hanger, jumper cables, touch pdm case to ground.
b. Start engine. With bike running, remove ground at bike or black box.
c. Did the bike keep running? Yes. Then no problem found at box to ground.
d. Did the bike stall? Yes. Black box needs to be grounded.

2. Room lamp theory:
a. Wire out of wall socket attaches to jobber [filament] end.
b. The heat [resistance] causes light of that coiled wire of steel if;
c. The other filament end attaches to the other side of that wall socket; is saying there is no need to ground the bulb a second time.

3. Black box wiring theory:
a. Red wire enters pdm's motherboard and begins to step-down 12v, wired to an integrated-chip so it can process at 5v to operate.
b. Black wire is soldered to that same (I-C) and leaves the black box and heads out to a connector, that leads to a ground source.
c. In theory, black box casing does not need a ground if the chip needs said ground for the motherboard.

3. Relay to headlight starting:
a. Relay keeps the light off so there is less draw at the battery.
b. Relay is activated when switch button hots the arm.
c. Relay arm is magnetically holding the light on when running.

Say lights/tach/sspeedo use the same ground.
Say the ignition uses another ground.
Say it can't be the power side or else the whole bike would shut off.
Say it's more a ground side being loose because the jobbers come back on line again.

Conclusion:
Find the tach/speedo/light grounds and check integrity at main harness and its ground attachments to... frame, engine, etc.

To answer your question it is not normal for the low beam to be off, if your key switch. Is stock it should be a 3 position switch. The light should come on in pos 2.
I don’t know allot about the pdm but a good place to check would be your headlight harness the stock harness has been known to melt causing issues with grounding etc.
