Something that will cause these types of problems and is missed by many mechanics is an intermittent voltage regulator ground. An intermittent ground will cause all kinds of problems.
I believe our regulators are grounded through the mounting bolts and should have a star washer helping to ground through the powder coating. Better yet scrap a little powder coating off and then use the star washer at the grounding point.
On that Note......while in Myrtle Beach, bike parked out front, a guy stopped to talk. He noticed it was a BD and works in a shop in NJ. I immediately told him that this was an EHC-less BD. He quickly responded...the single best move you could make "I see nothing but problems with the EHC's!"If your bike is that new, and under warranty, I wouldn't do a damn thing to myself. If you go changing VR or altering things, it will just give the dealer an out when they catch it. You know, they say some thing like "Who changed your VR? You did? Well, thats the problem." I bought my bike in August 08, I am already on my third EHC, and my warranty just expired. Next time it goes out (which should be soon), I'm hooking up with Jake for the Wireplus kit, and that fucker is history!! Good luck bro.
