Hi guys,
I have a big dent on the top of my headlight. I don't know if a dent wizzard can get it out but my main question is how do I take off the light. I was told the back was soldered.
I just want to remove it so I can take it without the whole bike somewhere to try to get the dent out if possible. Thank You in advance Chuck Buban, Missouri

2 small set screws under bottom loosen them up. grab trim ring with rubber gloves so fingers wont slip, turn counter clock wise,, then there is a retaining ring that has small holes in it I have a special tool to remove but a small pin punch or small screwdriver will do be carefull,, after the ring are out a rubber o ring & bulb will come out then disasamble bulb plug, remove mounting bolts.. if you do a search there might be picts

Don't loosen the rear set screw!!!! Only the front one!

Rear set screw holds in the backing plate that everything tightens up against.

Headlight??

Does the that you guys mentioned just take out bulb from housing? I need to take out entire chrome housing ?
Maybe I'm missing something? Chuck

If you are talking about the headlight bucket then just remove the two bolts on the headlight mount. Disconnect the wire under the tank.

Thanks guys, Do you have to take tank off to disconnect headlight.? IF so is it a job? Chuck
Follow the wire harness from the bucket to where it goes under the gas tank. I've disconnected mine before without removing the tank so you may be able to do the same.

you can disasemble the wires from the pulg & remove the bucket without removing the complete harnes if you just need bucket replacement.

Damn, been trying to take the headlight ring off for an hour plus now. Finger tips are blistered, shins are all cut up thanks to BDM Ridgeback and them pointy things, and now I read about the damn set screws. Typical male I guess, never read the instructions first.:bang:
