how to clean carb bowl?

Hello Everyone.
I have some varnish build up on my carb. So, I will remove the bowl and clean but since I have never done this before, I don't want to screw it up. Any tips on how to go about doing this. I read the thread on pulling the entire carb but I believe I will just remove the bowl (and not the carb). When I pull the bowl what should I do? Do you have to unscrew the jets and ream them with a pin or something. I just need to know what to do after I pull the bowl. Any help with this would be great. Thanx bunch.

my recommendation is pull the whole carburetor and soak in carburetor cleaner....purchase at most auto parts stores, usually comes with a basket with the can. Won't do any good to only soak the bowl.

coach is probably right. There is no way you'll get everything without submerging it.
