I am trying to put a sissy bar system on my 06 K-9. Got a 18" sissy bar off e-bay, now I need the fender struts with the reciever holes. If anyone has a set for sale let me know.

Was looking for those for over a year. When you buy the sissy bar from Big Dog the struts come with it. Even if I took my sissy bar off I would leave the struts. Probably the norm out there. Good luck.

You might want to buy a sissy bar set from BD that is not the same length as the bar you got. That way you get the struts, a different bar and you still have the one you got. you can mix it up a bit.

This is true. But the sissybar system from BDM runs almost 1,000.00 with all the parts. Thats a lot of cake for a freakin sissybar. Keep looking Hooter. Best of luck .

Thanks for all the responses guys. I am still looking. I been riding for over 20 yrs. now, started on a 72 sportser, then a FLHTC, then a springer, then a wideglide, then a Road King, then an Ultra. In 05 bought a ridgeback, but it killed my back. So now I find myself on an 06 K-9 and love the bike. Just trying to figure out a way to get the wife on the back of it now and I think the sissy bar will be the ticket. I am in Okla City by the way.

Here's how one guy solved the problem! Saw this setup at Thunder on the Mountain rally (Brian Head, UT) last July. I think the bike was from Las Vegas from the plate. I would have liked to have talked to the owner to get the whole story including the seats setup? Does this Dog belong to a member of BDB by chance??

I am in the same fix with my '07 K-9 project but since it is a raw bike, I thought I would see if I couldn't fab something similar to what I did on my Red chop. $1000 IS pretty pricey!

Try Ginz Choppers....they have bolt on receivers that bolt onto the fender for 11/16" diameter sissy bars....I bought a set for $93.00
and they dont obstruct my tail lights....i haven't put them on yet because i'm fabricating a 2 pieces of sheet of metal that will mount on the inside of my fender, to the struts / sissybar receivers for laterial strenght....because my fender is fiberglass...

anyways here is the linky to the site

Thanks for all the advsie and guidance. I located a set of struts and 12" sissy bar on e-bay and bought the set. That goes along with what Daddycool500 advsied because now I will have both a 12" and a 18" sissy bar. Thanks
