I haven’t tried Deka ETX20L yet but I’ve had good luck with my Braille lasting about 5 to 7 years each before the cranking amps become an issue. The removed Braille goes into the Riding Lawnmower but right now my Lawnmower has had a Walmart Battery for about 3 years so I leave it alone. All my spare used batteries sit on the garage concrete.

Every battery I own gets its own trickle charger or I rotate a charger around. Even the used spares. All these damn new cars have so many electronics on them it’s crazy. So, the only real battery killer around here is the Corvette so I keep a charger/maintainer on it. I changed it out this year but probably didn’t need to. At least I have a ready to go boat battery.

I thought you had to use a special lithium battery charger unless things have changed. I have a Lithium motorcycle battery sitting on my bench with its own charger and had used it a long time ago when the Daytona 675 battery needed replacing. That sucker is so small and light but I would not keep one on a motorcycle.

Long story but I would stick with Deka or Braille and always have some good trickle/maintainer chargers around.

Mr Wright. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Yours is just different than mine. I've used the Lighting Start batteries in my 03 Pit Bull for years, I had one last almost 5 years, and another shit the bed at 11 months (replaced for free including shipping by the seller)[. Like I said "works for ME"... Mr. Jersey Big Mike. I have never tested the CCA of any of my Lightening Start batteries, but I can attest to this, they will spin my little S&S 107 without compression releases like a top. Your mileage may vary....

You can charge a Lithium with any charger.

The reason many Lithium Battery manufacturers recommend a Lithium specific charger is because many battery tenders have a desulfation mode. This is unnecessary for a lithium and hard on them over time.

Since I switched to Lithium I never have to use a tender except time or two in the winter to make me feel better. When I plug it in it’s almost immediately green.
The last tender I bought is dual mode, standard or Li so it’s not an issue regardless.
