High RPM/Hi-Beam

When accelerating hard - and it reaches around 4200 - 4500 rpm, the high beam jumps on. USUALLY you can just switch it back to low beam and it will go back to low beam - but not always? The times it won't go back to low beam when I hit the switch, the headlight will flicker but go back to high. Also the tach readout is in bright mode all the time, whether its night or not.:bang:

Sounds like a short, likely under the tank.

Open up your headlight bucket, I'll bet that your H4 headlight connector has "started" to melt down. If you let it continue further, it will leave you with "NO Headlight" whatsoever, and it may be at the most inopportune time as well! This has happened to many others here, many times previously! :down:
If this is what you find, PM me or just contact a BDM dealer and request the BDM Headlight Remedy Kit for "Service Bulletin" 1077, (BDM # 173-000012-00) that'll fix it. :2thumbs:

I think so too!! Dealer rep was here last weekend & I told him they made my bike on a Friday afternoon after the company Christmas Party before the long weekend!! I bought it new - so maybe I'm getting my just rewards....
