High pitch noise - like belt slip on car

Been hearing a high pitch whine sort of like a belt slip on a car.

Actually, it sounds almost identical to a slipping belt on a car, with the intensity increasing with acceleration.

It can be heard when bike is cold for the first maybe 5 minutes of riding, mostly when accelerating in 1st and 2nd gears, a tiny bit in 3rd gear. When coasting or off gas slowing down, no noise can be heard.

Seems to be coming from rear, perhaps from the most rear part of the drivetrain but not sure.

Any clues?
Thanks!

squeal

Check the fluid level in your primary. My brother had the same squealing noise coming from the same location on his '04 Chopper. The primary fluid was waaaay low.

I had that when I got my bike. It was wheel/trans belt alignment and tension.
They adjusted my wheel crooked to get the belt to track. I had to re align the motor/trans with the rear wheel.

Primary fluid and alignment both make sense.
I'll start with primary fluid and go from there. Will let you know what I find.

Plain ol belt squeek

Well, tried the simplest route first and lubbed the belt (with appropriate belt lube of course), no more squeeking.

Now, maybe I just masked the issue with the lube

Visually, the belt looks straight. I'll still be checking the fluid level over the weekend or something. And see if it comes back soon.

Thanks for the inputs!
