HELP!

Put a new battery in my dog turn on the key nothing no lights had the battery on the tnder over nite. getting elec. to the stater. bike was ok till put the new battery in due a cracked terminal:bang:

can you tell us any more about your problem? Did you check your breaker? Does it make any noise or attempt to turn over? How long has it been since you last rode the bike? What type of battery?

Do you have a breaker under your seat?

Are all of your connections tight?

Are you sure everything is connected to your battery? Don't get offended, it happened to me! One of my cables had slipped down out of sight while pulling the battery.

Did anything arc when you cracked your terminal? Could have blown a fuze or tripped your breaker.

Check your ign. switch. All the wires good?

did the people you bought the battery from put it on a charger before you took it with you. "factory activated" don't mean it is at a full charge!!!!!!!!!!

its a 05 ridgeback it may have arked when it broke every thing is tight put it on the tender over nite. with tha test light i checked what looks like a relay test lights up. checked coil 3 wires with key on and off test didnt light. with key on ehc lights dont come on. head lite doesent come on.

After turning teh ignition key, you may have to push the run button to get power to the coil. May want to check that too.

tryed that big dog dealer said my be the ehc. dealer is 2hrs. away no way to get the bike to them

Could be worse, at least you wern't in east bumfuck somewhere when the ehc took a shit. EHCs are high tech treasures aren't they?

OK I'm not being rude or doubt your ability........ but could it be possible that - when replacing the battery you may have accidently missed connecting one of the many cables that attach to the terminals? Just checking...

Gonna ask some basic questions. Are you sure you got all the leads back onto the battery? Were you having problems before you replaced the battery besides the cracked terminal? Also have to ask are you sure you hooked up the positive to the positive and negative to the negative? Both are covered in heat shrink so it can be an honest mistake to cross them. Strange that on just a battery change the EHC would fail. All it takes for the EHC to power up is positive and negative input and the key switch input. You have those 3 things and the power up LED on the EHC will light up providing it's a good EHC.

i have 5 wires to the battery 3to the pos. 2 to neg. the pos. terminal broke may have arked. i know its strange bike was good till the pos broke. dont know if if arked if it would short out the ehc. test lite on the 3 wires on the coil with the key on didnt lite. ehc doesnt lite up with the key on

yes but as Ohmster asked - are you sure you got the leads on the right way round?
