06 ridgeback. Recently the plug wires like to vibrate off the coil. Well it happened yesterday and must of hit one of the terminals on the coil as i was trying to pull off the road while it was still sparking. Pulled over pushed wire back on. No more headlight. So just said screw it and started on my way home. but needed to stop for gas and at that point found out key switch doesn't kill the power no more. Bike would not fire. ended up having to have it towed home. I wouldn't think it'd be the coil bad since it did fire, but i have no clue where to start with this issue. any help would be appreciated....And what wires would be best so they quit vibrating off!!!!

Can't help with the trouble shooting, but mercury marine used to put electrical ties around the coil wires to hold in place. Sounds like you might have fried something. Check your fuses and look for melted insulation. Have a safe and happy 4th:flag:

thanks. i plan on replacing the coil just since its already down, and the ties sound like a hell a good idea :)....thanks tho for your reply and hope you have a safe and happy 4th too.

That doesn't sound good. As fragile as the EHC can be you may have toasted part of it which can only be fixed with another EHC or switching to the Wire Plus. I was having the same problem and used the zip ties which solved the issue for me.

I unplugged the key switch, then hit the start button and its still has juice. so i kind of eliminated the key switch there i'd believe...
