Headlight Problem

On a 2004 big dog chopper my headlight problem started with it flickering on and off on low beam and high beam until it finally stop working.... went to change my bulb and the connection to the headlight was melted.. whats causes that?? ... I put a new connection and a new bulb and it still don't work ....:bang: ... What's my next step?

I would check your CB/Fuse (not sure which one you have) to make sure it didn't pop/burn up. If that's not it, I would disconnect the battery terminal for a few minutes and then hook it back up and try it. EHC might have tripped because of the short. Make sure you got a good connection when you spliced the wires.

I'm having the same problem with my 04 Ridgeback. Did you figure what the problem with yours was? Also which fuse would I be looking for?

When is someone on this site going to post the real problem? I will tell you this, cut out you OEM H4 connecter and replace with a cermic H4 connector:H4 HeadLight Socket Connector Plug CERAMIC 1PC | eBay

I have an 04 chopper that was doing the same thing. I never could trust the headlight. Got tired of it and wired it into the marker light circuit. Only have low beam but better then no light. My Problem is in the ehc. Have run like that for a few months with no problems.

I might be looking at the same fix. I was hoping it would have been something else but from the sounds of things it could very well be the EHC.
