Has anyone else had their pipes melt the fake oil bag?

My Yaffe pipes really bubbled up the fiberglass on the covers. I thought about buying replacements and wrapping the pipes. Instead I have had a stainless steel heat sheild made that I designed. I will put a pic or two up here when I finally get it installed.

Just wondering if this has been an issue for anyone else?

on my 07 K-9 i have the troublemakers pipes they bubbled up my fake covers also

Happened to me with my mean mothers....dealer said it was defective clearcoat and BDM repainted them.....happened again....its not too bad so I just let it go and keep riding.

Sho did, It was the yaffe pipe also, Then the trotta pipe, to the BR that didn't and now the Martin Bros that seam to be ok. Talk about having pipe dreams.
