Got To Ride Today

Energy One
Warmed up in the 70's today and no Rain :whoop: Got a good little 200 mile ride in. Thought I would post some pics of your hard earned tax money at work. These trailers were bought by our government in 2005 for Katrina victims. 25,000 of them. There still here

Spring is almost here :D

25000 trlr's. What is the story for not providing for all those displaced ppl thay really could have used these?

I heard that the government put them all up for auction. High bidder got them all. Winning bid was 27 million. That works out to about $1100.oo a trailer  If there not ruined by now.....somebody is going to make a killing. This will kill the market for travel trailers. Travel trailers are going to hold there value about as good as choppers :D

well if the winning bidder got them for $27M, why is the GOV paying to store them....I bet there's more to it. Or atleast a time frame to have them moved.

Either way...screw all that....

Nice Bike! I cant wait to get home and ride mine again.....

Watch out for those travel trailers. I looked at several before I bought mine. They were all very good prices but, They smelled like hell. Also all the ones that I looked at had no holding tanks. My advise steer away from these turds.

Arn't most of those trailers down in Hope that were recently auctioned off, ones that were used by people in Katrina and Rita originally and now have gone back to Govt since no longer needed.

Understood that these and other similar were mainly used and on average where not in that great of condition. They have a couple of FEMA storage sites up near this area too, with plenty standing by for next major disaster.

Pretty sure that FEMA keeps many in reserve for quick reaction in a few locations and auction off some as they get used.

Anyway glad to hear that you had a great ride and hope many others did also. Even I got a nice ride in Sunday as well as yesterday going back and forth to work.

Safe riding to all!

Hey Mick! Glad you got out and great lookin' K-9! Thanks for sharing!

And for showing us ONE MORE govt boondoggle! Maybe the guy who bought them is going to put ramp doors on the back of them and make em into toyhaulers! Then if we can only get folks back to work so they can buy them and have gas to go somewhere!

I don't blame you for not riding by there often. I'd be pissed too. The whole Katrina thing was a BIG MESS!
