Good Price on Metzelers

ordered me some new shoes yesterday. found a place on line, americanmototires.com, 300-35-18 listed at 286.85/ mh90-21 listed at 97.41. checked BBB listing and showed they had an "F" rating so said "screw that" and kept looking. found revzilla.com and saw that they have a price match policy and called them. their BBB rating is "A-" so went with them and with the price match, saved a little over $50.00 with free shipping to boot. should be here Wednesday. :2thumbs:

will do. the sales guy was just that, a sales guy. supposedly, they move a lot of tires so the inventory is always up to date, but that ain't sayin' shit when it comes to 300's. got my fingers crossed the date is good and the 300 doesn't rub the belt. supposed to get them Wednesday.

Tom....I've had 2 metzler 300's and neither one rubbed the belt. It was close but did not rub. Also thats a great price on the Metzler 300. I needed one quick the last time I replaced the Metzler and ran up to Little Rock Ar and got one......Paid $470.oo I need to replace it again The Metzler I put on before that one I ordered from a place here in town and paid $360.oo

met the truck at the end of the driveway a little while ago with the "NEW" tires. the 300 had a date code something like 4811 and the MH90 was like 3612. HELL NO. refused delivery, called revzilla, and they said sorry, we can't specify date on orders. not what the other guy said.

they will (hopefully) be issuing a credit to my card when they get the tires back.

can't anybody stand by their word.

hope i didn't get anybody's hopes up too high.

found a local shop that will sell 300 for 310.00 and mount for 20.00 if you buy the tire from him. this way, if it doesn't have a good date, not a problem. check with locals.

Looks like the newest Metzeler ME880 your going to get will be at least a year old, because they were discontinued last June, they have been replaced by ME888 however they do NOT make them in our 250 or 300 size so it looks like Avon is now the only game in town. I hope that Avon has changed the compound as was stated on here a while back.

I'm wondering how long a tire will keep if kept in a climate controlled environment.
