But the reflectors are gone!:bang::roll:

Looks like a great deal! He stated he has 33K in the bike, never titled - you CANT walk out the door with a cert of origination on a bike unless you know the owner. Since he knows the owner he is flippin the bike and do really think he has 33K in it? Still a good deal though, although we have his first lie.

BIG AREA OF CAUTION - you take your certificate of origination to DMV, 99% of the time they will want a RECEIPT showing what you paid for it. Different rules with a certificate... chances are he won't have one with your name on it, or the selling dealers name as it appears on the certificate.

Last thing, I hope his name is not in the "buyer" on the certificate. Good luck getting him to register it, then title it so he can hand you over a title worth something to you.

Just food for thought.

Big Dog puts 30 miles on before they ship from the factory. So this K9's only got 100 owner miles PLUS V&H Big Radius pipes, and he's only asking $18K?! Hmmm..."sumpin' don't smell right!":loony:

I'd check to make sure it's not stolen or been wrecked & rehabbed. Doing the DMV check is a good idea. I'd also check with the factory to see what they can offer about this bike before I laid down my hard earned cash.

I hope it checks out legit...deal of the century if so!

I kinda hope it turns out to be a scam......

Not that I'm selling, but this will hurt our resale values even more.

I sent the seller a bunch of questions...we'll see what kinds of answers he comes up with.

Obviously, someones finances must have really went to shit. Terrible thing. Someone is going to get a seriously good deal on this bike at someone else's bad fortune.

Didn't get specific answers to questions but got these two replies:

NEVER BEEN WRECKED ALL YOU DO IS TAKE THE CERTIFICATE INTO THE MOTOR VEHICLE DEPT AND THEY ISSUE YOU A TITLE THE SAME IS WITH A NEW CAR.

ITS THE SAME THING YOU CAN CALL A BIG DOG DEALER AND ASK. ITS THE SAME AS A TITLE. ALL YOU DO IS TAKE IT TO YOUR DMV AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU A TITLE. I HAVE 2 DEALERS INTERESTED IN THE BIKE SO I CANT SEE IT LASTING LONG. THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER

Right. All you need to do is send the money, the bike is already at the shipping company.

Sounds like the same old scam.....

How far away is it? Might be worth the cost of a plane ticket to go check it out in person if you're really serious about it. Just a thought...

If I remember right, a cert of origionation has no location for a sale price, so you need a sales receipt to go with it. The sellers name will have to match on the receipt, as well as the buyers name.

If you have the paperwork in order, it does work just like a title.

I noticed last night the ebay auction ended. It doesn't say sold with "buy it now", just says "item ended".

So did this bike sell? I'm looking at the listing which says "ended" and shows NO bids and shows nothing about reserve not met.

Wondering what happened.

I've had my ebay account hijacked. Someone was trying to sell motorcycles using my account and good standing. I only learned of it from getting nasty emails from ebay members. The dude was trying to sell 07 Screaming Eagles at $6500.00 each; an obvious scam. As soon as I reported it to ebay all of the auctions were ended. I had to change my user name and password.

Yep it ended. When I bought mine, I got it off of Cycle Trader. It was just under a year old, still under warranty, not many miles and I paid $10K less than the seller paid (gave me the original receipt). Back then the market wasn't flooded with Big Dogs for sale either. He was an underwater welder, was going through a divorce and was liquidating. Too bad for him...lucky for me. So you just never know. You definitely have to be cautious when "It sounds to good to be true!" and good on the members here, pointing out the red flags and making sure none of us went into this deal with blinders on.

How YOU doin?
If anyone wants to call the guya and find out what's going on, his name is Harvey and his number is 262-895-6516 or 414-687-8850. I was seriously thinking about buying this bad boy, but decided I didn't want to spend $18K for that color. Don't get me wrong, I know that was a smokin deal, but I just don't want to spend that kind of money and NOT get the color that I really want.

By the way, Harvey called me yesterday. He said that some guy came and put a $500 deposit on this bike last week and then never showed up with the rest of the money, so the bike is for sale again. If anyone is interested, call him up at the number in the post above.
