getting new handle bars made

So I am getting new handle bars made for the big dog and was wondering what if any differances there are on the bolts that go into the handle bars. Size? thread count? Are they stock harley size? Bushing Size?

1/2-13 HD uses grade 5 I use grade 8. If you are raising the bar height get hard or solid bushings.

You may end up having to pin the bars through as well.

let me refrase the question....im having custom bars made so how should I have them thresd the new bars? Size and thread count.

Are the bars you are having made have the risers built in?

The bungs in the bottom of the bars, where the bolts go through the triple trees. Whether you use risers or not makes no difference, they are 1/2-13.

Thank u Moespeeds......thats what I needed. @stl yes risers and bars are going to be all 1 piece. @moespeeds What kind of bushings are stock with the bars?

I don't know but I always use hard urethane bushings but I like my bars tall. With shorter bars you can get away with soft bushings. Any HD parts dept should have them.

Reason I played stupid a little more,is because mupy bars and risers and bars were separate.
