Your miles ahead just sending it to Baker and let them do their full replacement rebuild.
It is only like $1200 and they replace all the internals.

Ya be careful, that's what I did, and they added on for mainshaft, shift forks etc. Came out to ~$1600
Then to add insult to injury, now ~5k later its jumping out of 3rd gear.
I called them and they said the dog ears are worn on the gear sets and needed replaced.
I questioned them on why, after it just got rebuilt and they said, well they only replaced what's "needed" at the time. Apparently the likely half worn gear sets were too much trouble while they were already in there.
Now they expect me to pull it AGAIN and pay for another rebuild.
No respect for that POS place.

Interesting, I think it really depends on who you deal with at Baker these days.
I have a customer that just sent theirs in and Baker actually did replace everything inside the case without being asked to do so and without consulting the customer. We only know because the customer opened the transmission up to verify. I have talked to Don/Buddy a couple of times now about this procedure and he stressed that they are just doing it to better serve the customers.
I have pretty much learned to deal only with Don for orders. Don't have anyone specific in the rebuild area yet though.
