Where can I find a gas cap that doesnlt have the plastic threads? I think the plastic is swelling and making it near impossible to remove.

There are a couple of fixes tried by members. Do a search on "gas caps sticking". Things like vaseline on the threads, sanding the threads down a little with sand paper do not over tighten etc. will help ya:2thumbs:

I had the same problem on my '04 Chopper. I called R&B
Cycles (BDM dealer). They said BDM had a new repacement
cap that ratchets but otherwise looks the same. I ordered
it and it was at my door in 2 days. It's great and the
cheapest alternative I considered.

I did the same here. I remember removing a black nut cover on the bottom of the cap threads which I think is a vent cover. I was the new ratcheting replacement from BDM. Anyway I just unscrewed it and left it off. The tank vents fine.

Pull the paint saver, clean up the paint around it an then you can get just about any gas cap for HD or custom.

Its the methanol in the gas now. I acutally have two caps, one spare and I can take the swollen cap and leave it on the work bench for a week and then I will work fine for a while. I have one from Jake on my Christmas list. SANTA!!!
