try folding a piece of sandpaper and chasing the threads with it, it doesn't take a lot until it works again. the problem is common thanks to the ethanol in the gas. sand mostly on the pitch, not too much in the root.

Stortz Performance can help with the seals........ 805-641-9540. I have a 2000 Bulldog with inverted forks, they hooked me up.
Steve just Emailed me back and said he is not sure who made my forks. Shit ! In the service manual it says GCB inverted forks but Steve Stortz said they are not GCB and to try American Suspension.

Two different companies made the inverts that year. Is there an eagle anywhere in your triple trees?
No markings anywhere that I can find. Just a Big Dog stamp on the front. Do you know who the companies were? I heard they even had some from China.

I just need to get a rebuild kit for them.

You forks are Mean Streets.
They're just 41mm inverted.
Thank You! I just found some other old posts that mention the same. Mean Streets Product does not seem to have a website and I called the number on the internet but its been disconnected so they must be out of business.

Here is what LA Dog said about the parts in his older post....

Rebuild kit suggested for the inverted forks (seals, clips, bushings) is OEM Harley Davidson kit for 84-99 Softail FLST. This kit is for 41mm fork tubes, which is what is inside the BDM 54mm sliders.
Seal size is specifically: 41.3mm X 54mm x 11mm in case you want to pick up the leak proof moly types of seals.

Oil is 350ml (cc) of 15w Bel Ray Racing Suspension fork oil per shock
