I did a search. Seen so enold posts from 2016. With dead links etc...

Was hoping someone has current knowledge of what is the correct kit needed to do seals on my 04 Ridgeback.

Maybe a link or parts number on a kit. Also... I read here that I should use 30 weight vs 20 weight fork oil. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Yes bigdogpartskingpin for the rebuild kit. Get yourself a seal driver if it’s in your budget. Sure makes it easier to put the new seals in. Good luck!

Thanks. Forsure going to get that driver. Appreciate everyone's help! I hit a massive pot hole doing 65mph on the highway few weeks back. I'm glad the forks did their job. Could have bent a rim, fork tubes or even worse.... my neck. All is good except one seal. Going to do a full rebuild including springs too. 2004 so it's due.

I've always used a piece of pipe, and a washer, on top of the seal as a slide hammer, to install new fork seals. Works like a champ.:smash:

I redid mine for the second time now. Seal and bushings came from Wild Steed worx. Curtis always helps me out with questions to. Used the same old PVC driver tool.

Drain out the bottom, then use the whole fork/shock like a syringe with a bucket and some diesel fluid... suck up fluid, shake, and then push back out.... then makes taking the springs and tube apart alot easier and cleaner.

Then pull dust caps, spring clips. THEN backwards yank/ pull seals out of legs.. clean everything, assemble, and fill back with fluid of choice, 30wt for me.
