Fork oil change

I have seen the very well documented fork oil change, with the tubes inverted. Being new to the DOG, I just am curious why you do not used the drain plugs in the bottom of the forks. I thought that maybe they were no drain, but I did see them on my 2002 the other day when I changed the front tire. Does it not all come out. Just seems like a real pain to remove both forks. Just curious.

Just did the lower leg swap on mine thisweekend and true, you can drain the lower legs with the drain bolt in the bottom and get about 9 oz. of oil out that way. My buddy is a tech at the BDM service center and he recommends just doing a couple drains to replace the oil if going that route.

Thanks...did not even think of doing a couple drains to get it all out.
