I still have the stock foot pegs on my K-9. Wondering if any of you have swapped them out fro solid steel pegs. BDM has some flame ones I like. I was concerned that by having no rubber on the pegs if vibration would become a problem? Anyone experienced this? I don't just bar hop I ride 2000 to 2500 mile trips a couple times a summer so look are great but I really need functional. Any feed back woudl be appreciated.

steel does vibrate quite a bit, i wouldn't recommend them for long rides. your dealer my replace them under warrenty if you ask. they did that for my dad.

no way man. Alhall tried last year and one good trip and he went back to rubber. Vibes, and slipping.

I like mine - XOPRODOX pegs. They probably do vibrate more than rubberized ones, but I wear boots with real thick rubber soles, so that takes care of it. Also, the shape of these pegs is curved in (concave), so my boots don't tend to slip outward. I suppose if I ever took any really long trips I might prefer something more like the stock pegs, or else something like the Kuryakins people are putting on now that adapters are available - but the longest legs I have done are under 300 miles.

I run the Kuryakyn Zombie pegs with "homemade" adapters. Love them but still feel like they should be out about 2 inch to the side for a comfortable ride

I've been wanting to buy their pegs that are chrome spikes with the knurled rings around them. I wear thick boots too. I was thinking the knurled rings would help keep my foot from slipping off

Go for it - between the little bit of indent, and the knurling, they should hold your feet just fine.

I had the big dog spike pegs that didn't have the rubber and were not concave and HATED them. You must get either rubber OR concave and possibly knurled pegs or you almost have to push your feet onto the pegs which will wear you out after just a short hop. I'd get some adapters from cav and get some kuryakyn pegs that have the flip down part for the long hauls...

I have the XO pegs and grips with the rubber O-rings on them. They help out a good bit with the vibration/traction. Plus they are a little different then everything else you see.
