I recently purchased a folding tag bracket from a BD dealer in Arkansas when i recieved it it looked like it had been used it was in its original package but opened i contacted the dealer they told me its not uncommon for products like the tag bracket to come from BDM in this condition , its clear to see its been fitted to a bike before i got it, didnt really bother me as im in OZ its hard for me to get parts so i put up with it, but just wanted to know is the bracket suppose to close when going over 90mph and is there suppose to be a bolt in the outside end of the bracket it seems to have a thread in there and it looks like there was once something in there if someone has one of these can you let me know. THANKS. This forum is unreal.

No idea about that tag bracket but someone will be along shortly that can answer that Q.

It is a dream to ride down under for a few months...

You might check in the hole that is threaded to see if there is a set screw or something to tighten/ hold the spring for the tension.

we have gotten a few from BDM that looked like they had been used as well but were in the original packaging. I think it may just be the "polished" that looks odd.

When I got my chopper in 2005 the owner had one he claimed he had never mounted, still in the package. When I opened it, it looked like it had been mounted.
