Fogged up speedometer

Went to Ohio Bike Week. Rode in a nasty rain storm for about 25 miles. During that time my speedometer fogged up and stayed wet on the inside of the lens. Is there any way to take the glass out and wipe it out? Or???? And by the way had a blast in Sandusky.

Mine does that too but all the moisture in mine seems to go away completly after awhile. And no issues yet.

I haven't been in the rain and mine fogs up depending on temp. and humidity. This is a known problem which there may not be a way to correct. I think some have bought after market speedos to cure the problem.

There is no way to really correct this issue. Most that have corrected the issue have changed their speedo to the Dakota Digital or the new BDM speedo and this has solved the issue.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Will live with it a while longer then maybe do the Gasman trick.

Just wanted to let everyone know that after 2 weeks it did clear up fine.

My speedo has never been wet ever. It fogs up up on a regular basis as well. I think it is just something we have to live with if you stay with the old style speedo's.

Buy a DAKOTA DIGITAL, and throw the stock one off a bridge.:2thumbs:

My stock one fogged up, even after I removed the rubber plug. My Dakota is soooooo much better.

Mine does the same thing. Big Dog originally replaced it and the new one even fogged up. Fortunately I haven't had any problems with it, it's just hard to see at times.

Mine did that in the beginning and Big Dog swapped it out for a new one - no problems since.
Don't know what the difference was - speedo looks the same to me.

Just wanted to let people know that the speedo did clear up on its own. Took about 2 weeks but now its fine.

The only time mine does not fog is when it is close to 100 degrees and high humidity...

mine did the same,big dog replaced it,the new one does the same,now the odometer quit working.gonna buy a dakota digital.
