I just bought a used 2009 Wolf with 2800 miles... because of the weather, I only had a chance to ride it around the block... started right up... its been maintained well, including all of the fluid changes at 500... But still has the factory cams and belt... Based on all of the discussions related to the problems with the X Wedge, would you guys recommend replacing the cams regardless of the fact that there's been no problems to date, just from a reliability standpoint?

Also, based on your experience with S&S, will they work with me even though the I haven't experienced a problem yet... Is there someone there that you had a good experience with in discussing the problem? Thanks

I have the same bike with 8K miles. I upgraded the cams with the easy start, way better now, when I start the bike it turn over flawless now. I still have the original cams belt but eventually I will changed it, I heard they come out with some improve ones. I also put a new programmable ECU, if you do any mods the programmable ECU is a must or it won't make any performance improvement with the original locked one.

things will be fine stock. I wouldn't worry unless you start having problems and my bet is you won't. If down the road you feel the need for more power have at it. A lot of problems start up after you start modifying your motor and don't do a complete job trying to do a little at a time.
Congratulations on your new bike , ENJOY !!!!

Don't have a Wolf, but have an X-Wedge. The cams really aren't a source of problems. Changing out to the 569 EZ-start is a good idea if you have to get into the back of the cam plate--but not just to do it. You will get a performance gain though.

The belt issues have been hit and miss -- though for me mostly a miss. S&S has owned up when the second belt showed problems after 2K miles. They're sending a new cam plate and a new tensioner -- both made to reduce the overall tension on the cam belt. There are Wedges out there with 40-80K miles with never a belt change. Standard is 30K...but you want to check it often.

The Wedge Master up there is Brent. I've always asked for him.

Even with the belt problems, I still like the motor and there is still performance in there waiting to get out.

Thanks for responding so quickly guys... I appreciate your input... I think I will give it a season and then make the power mods... Maybe by then, there might be a few more options available... It's a pleasure being a part of the dog community
